You will need
- 100g Onions
- 100g celery stalks
- 100g Carrots
- 250g Potatoes
- 150g Celery root
- 200g Dried pork beans
- 50g Bacon, 15g Parsley
- 50g Roasted beans
- 100ml Sweet cream
- Water as needed
- 15ml Vegetable oil, Salt/black pepper to taste
Soak the dried beans in cold water for 8 hours or overnight. Peel all the vegetables
and cut into approximately 1 cm cubes, the bacon in the same way. Heat a pot of suitable size to
medium flame, then pour in the oil and put the onions and bacon in the pot. Stirring occasionally,
fry until they start to acquire a golden color, then add the celery stalks and after a moment also the carrots.
Add salt and pepper to taste. When the carrots and celery are almost ready, add them
potatoes, celery root, drained soaked beans and cover everything with sweet cream and
water – salt again and pepper to taste. Cook until the potatoes and beans are soft, then
add finely chopped parsley and after two minutes remove from the flame. Soup can
enjoy in the classic version or as a thick soup – for a more pronounced taste and texture, decorate with
for the roasted beans.
Enjoy your meal!
